The “International Lasers,Optoelectronics and Photonics Exhibition – ILOPE” which took place from 20th to 22nd November 2007 was the platform for another successful ASIA Invest Business Meetings between European and Chinese Photonics companies.
Following the excellent results of the previous ASIA-Invest Matchmaking Event in the photonics sector at ILOPE 2005 – after which companies reported contracts varying from Joint Ventures to Distributorship and directs sales – SPECTARIS brought a delegation of 41 European companies to Beijing for face-to-face meetings with 60 Chinese counterparts.
Results of ASIA Interprise LEAP
Thanks to their participation at the ASIA Interprise LEAP Matchmaking Event 16 Agreements have been signed between Chinese and European companies. Furthermore, the participants are currently following 26 promising business contacts.
This is the result of the questionnaire we sent to all participants after four months.
In fact, most of the companies were very satisfied with the outcome of the meetings already directly after the Event. 30% of the European participants indicated that they made very good contacts on which they would like to follow up. More than half of the EU companies, namely 25 European companies, specified to follow up at least two of the contacts made during the Business Meetings. 57% of the European participants judged the venue as good. Nearly 80% of the European participants evaluated the organisation of the meeting as very positive.
Finally, two third of all participants indicated that they would like to participate in any future Asia Invest Matchmaking event in order to make business contacts.
Several participants confirmed that the ASIA Interprise LEAP Matchmaking Event has been a fruitful and successful platform for opening up cooperation possibilities in Europe and China.

How much does it cost to Participate?
Thanks to the financial support of the European Union’s Asia Invest Programme and the Project Partners, participation in the matchmaking event is free of charge. You only have to pay for your travel expenses and your stay in Beijing.
